System description

The fault indicating and building automation system TS400 is an alarmserver in compliance with DIN 19235 and offers the perfect platform to monitor predominantly technical systems and plants.
Thanks to the integrated visualisation and the save alarm chain your infrastructure is alway under control.
The access for monitoring and configuration is with a web browser either directly in the CPU or with a computer within the network. All system access can be password-protected.
The menuoperated parameterisation does not require any in-depth programming knowledge due to visualisation. The data is collected by a wide variety of analogue as well as digital inputs from the low-cost Wago range. Interfaces such as KNX, BACnet, OPC UA, ESPA444, Modbus, Unix-Syslog or SNMP-Traps can be imported and processed too.

The TS400 alarmserver offers multitude of media to indicate any faults occurring.
The TS400-D133 operator modules will give you up-to-date information in plain text about all system status and fault indication messages.
Using the SIA DC-09 / Contact ID protocol, any events can be transferred to an alarm or operation center.
Any alerts may also be sent in form voice message, fax, SMS, email or pager message to predefined groups.
Local nodes are connected via the usual networking KAT 5 and are therefore easily integrated into the exsisting infrastructure.
With the redundancy solution offered by the TS400, the system can be built up to complete redundancy in a scalable and fail-safe manner as required.
The degree of synchronisation of the configuration between the TS400 CPU processor modules can be largely parameterised.

Design

The system comprises the following primary components:

TS400 CPU Processor

Master control unit with 256 GB RAM. All events are recorded in log files and can be viewed and evaluated. The CPU can manage up to 128 nodes and 16 TS400-D133 operator modules. It ensures communication between all system components using standard network technology (Ethernet Cat.5). The CPU is also the platform for the visualisation / SCADA.

TS400 DM Operator module LAN

The TS400-D133 Operator module displays all messages in plaintext. When an alarm arises, the integrated acoustic alarm is also sounded. Thanks to the 13,3" Touch display the visualisation of data points, values, trending and alarms on floor plans is easy. Moreover it offers access to the configuration.

TS400 Remote display unit

The TS400 remote display unit is a large-size LED display unit for displaying alarm text that can be read from a distance of up to 80 metres.

TS400 Fieldbus controller

Positioned upstream, the TS400 Fieldbus controller is the intelligent starting point of each and every node. Up to 128 nodes can be used in the system. Each of these are supplied locally. Each controller can manage 2000 digital or 1000 analogue I/Os. The connection to the TS400 CPU Processor is realised with Ethernet. The TS400 Fielbus controller is expanded with the TS400 Local in- output modules.

Thanks to the integration of tried and trusted WAGO I/O technology, a broad range of inputs and outputs are available. Mostly all variants belonging to the 750 series can be used. This means an optimal, space-saving and cost-saving solution is available for all voltage variants. The data transfer to the TS400 Feldbus controller is realised with an internal bus.

TS400 Autonomous input modules

The VOICE agent can be used as an autonomous input module for the TS400 system. By doing so, you can achieve an autonomous and redundant alarm generation route in addition to the input acquisition. The network is used to connect to the TS400 CPU processor module.

Connections:

The connections to the nodes are made using network cables (min. Cat. 5) in a star configuration from the switch. Standard technology is used and existing cabling can be integrated. However, of the alarm network is to fully separated, a cabling system can be installed from the CPU which is fully independent of the company network

An additional communication option is remote access over the Internet. After logging in, users can monitor the actual status of the system. Any alarms that occur can be acknowledged. Various log files can be called up to view all alarms which arose in the past and how they were responded to.

Visualisation

The visualisation of the TS400 is essential for effective monitoring and management of technical infrastructures.
The TS400 offers integrated web-based visualisation that requires no additional software or licences and is directly accessible via a browser.

Visualisation Concept of the TS400

The TS400’s visualisation enables the display of operating states, measurement values and alarm messages. This is done via a user-friendly interface
that can be individually customised. For example, floor plans or layout maps can be embedded, showing current conditions and alarms in a graphical form.
Measurement data can also be displayed as trend curves, allowing trend analysis. Configuration is menu-guided and requires no programming knowledge.

Components of the Visualisation

TS400-D133 Control Module: A 13.3" touchscreen that displays alarm messages in plain text. It enables the visualisation of data points on overview plans, shows current measurements and trend curves, and allows access to log files and user configuration.
TS400 Remote Display: An LED large-format display that presents alarm messages and can be read from up to 80 metres away. Ideal for production or storage facilities.
Web Browser Access: The visualisation can be accessed via any standard web browser. This enables both local and remote monitoring and control.

Example Visualisation

A building floor plan is displayed in the web interface.
Sensors and actuators are positioned on the plan and indicate their current status using colour coding (e.g. green for normal, red for alarm).
In the event of an alarm, the relevant area is highlighted and a plain-text message with details of the incident appears.
The user can take action directly via the interface, such as acknowledging the alarm or controlling actuators.

The TS400 offers various possibilities to present and visualise alarms, actual values and operating conditions. The trending function example given is prepaired to manage analogue values. By filling in a figure in the field "Trend" the value ist automatically shown on the page "Trending" in the main menue:

The detailed configuration is entered by clicking on the graph. In this sub-menue it is possible to edit the graph, export the values as CSV file or query past values.

Also digital signals/alarms can be visualised. The alarms or status signals can be shown on background images or ground plans. This overview enables a quick location of the alarm source:

Moreover, it is possible to visualise analogue values example given the actual temperature of the server room. Integrating switch buttons in the visualisation allows the user to control digital outputs.

Programming

Since all the programming takes place fully in the browser, there is no need to purchase software and updates. The configuration comes with graphics and is menu-based. The system can be programmed using any network PC, or a laptop connected to the switch. Participants are divided into groups for the purpose of alerting. Each entry may have a short text message (SMS) or long fax message as well as a language profile assigned to it. Otherwise, the TS400 will create a voice messages using the built in Text-to-Speech-Engine.
The fault indicating system TS400 includes a timer with numerous integrated functions. There are channels for weekdays, public holidays and other special days. These channels may be used to control how the alerts are being transmitted. There is also an option of disabling inputs or to switch outputs directly. Outputs are controlled according to fault indicating procedure DIN 19235 or via direct links.
